One of the simplest and easier ways to feed your orchids is to feed them with banana peels soaked in water. This practice provides the needed levels of Phosphorus, Magnesium and Potassium.
The recipe is as following:
Take banana peels from two bananas and put them in the recipient that can contain the banana peels and two liters of water.
Cover the banana peels with two liters of water and let them soak for two-three days.
Then, filter the water into a recipient of four liters and add an additional two litters of clean water.
Put your orchid (with its pot\jar) into the recipient for 15-20 minutes, to allow the orchid roots to absorb the substance.
This procedure should be performed every second watering of the plant. The feeding of the plant during the winter and the summer should be done once a month.
You can also use this water to clean the leaves of the plant using a cotton patch (the one that the women use for face cleaning) soaked in this water, to make them shinier and healthier, also providing them with food. Moreover, you can use this water to spray the flowers of the plant.
Happy Orchiding!
